- How much to use:
There are lots of ways to use essential oils in everyday routines so the specific amount of essential oil to uses varies. In general, a room diffuser or a bowl of steam will need about six drops of essential oil.
In most other cases, 3-4 drops of essential oil will be enough ( for the face, two drops is sufficient).
If you are mixing an essential oil with a carrier oil for massage, a 10ml bottle of carrier oil will require about 5 drops of essential oil.
All of our essential oils are sold with a dropper inside the bottle so you can regulate the amount of essential oil you apply easily.
If in doubt, use less then you can always add more later if required.
Safety:
In general, citrus oils such as, orange, lemon and bergamot are photo sensitive. Photo sensitive oils may reduce your skin’s resistance to sunlight and ultraviolet light, causing you to burn more easily in the sun.
Do not use them before going directly in the sun. It is wise to leave at least 24 hours before exposing the skin to sunlight or ultraviolet light. Seek medical advice before using if you have any concerns.
Always seek medical advice before using essential oils if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have high blood pressure, epilepsy, are under medical supervision or taking medication.
Once opened, store your essential oils in a cool, dry place and use within 12 months.
Avoid contact with the eyes and other sensitive areas during use
If using directly on skin, for example during massage, always blend a few drops of essential oil with a neutral carrier oil, such as coconut or jojoba oil, before massaging into skin.
Essential oils are for external use only. Our essential oils are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Store aromatherapy oils safely out of reach and away from children and animals.
